Just Like Us 1000 Piece Puzzle By Gibsons
2022 marked 50 years since the first Pride took place in the UK. To commemorate this significant date, we have teamed up with LGBT+ charity Just Like Us to release a special puzzle that celebrates the movement.
The Pride parade gives the opportunity for expression of celebration, joy and triumph but also the voice to rightly express the continued fight for those injustices and inequalities that still exist today.
To create this puzzle, Gibsons worked with Just Like Us, the young people’s charity that works with primary schools, secondary schools and colleges across the UK to improve the lives of LGBT+ young people. They put us in touch with freelance illustrator Lucy Kirk, who is known for depicting important messages through their bold, bright artwork and who created this fantastic puzzle scene!
For every copy of Just Like Us sold, Gibsons are donating 25p to the Just Like Us charity and have also made an initial donation of £4000.
Puzzle dimensions: 68x49cm
About The Artist:
Richard has been drawing cartoons ever since he can remember. His first influences were the likes of The Beano and Dandy and like most children of his age, the Marvel comics. The road to creating his cartoon histories started when he went to travel around South East Asia. He had been running a cafe on Sark in the Channel Islands and had saved enough for an extensive trip abroad. To record his travels, he turned his experiences into detailed cartoons of each country he visited. On returning to England he wanted to keep drawing in this style, depicting images of his native Essex and football cartoons.
From Gibsons:
As with all Gibsons jigsaws, we use 100% recycled puzzle board, FSC paper and work with the best artists from all around the world. The beautifully illustrated pieces are designed to fit perfectly together; in fact, we use the thickest puzzle board on the market.
We’ve made some positive changes to our processes, so you can be sure you’re getting the same great puzzles and know they are kinder to the environment. Not only does the box have a fresh new look, but we’ve used biodegradable clear labels to secure the lid instead of shrink wrap, reducing our plastic waste. We use vegetable-based inks too. The gloss coating on the box gives extra protection and the puzzle pieces are stored in a plastic bag that can be recycled by most councils.
Because the box is slightly smaller than our previous designs, we need less room to transport our products which reduces our carbon footprint and means you can store your puzzles more easily. We have also popped an artwork poster inside for you to reference whilst you piece together your lovely jigsaw puzzle.
Puzzle size is 49x68cm when complete.
